Together with Val Gardena, the Alpe di Siusi is part of the cross-country carousel Dolomiti NordicSki. A total of 1,300 trails makes the region the biggest skiing area in Europe. In addition to specialist shops for cross-country skiing equipment, there is also a Nordic Ski Centre at the mountain station of the Alpe di Suisi.
We in the family are all passionate cross-country skiers as well, which is why we’re sharing – in a very personal way – our favorite trails on the Seiser Alm:
HARTL (12 km) – Unbeaten favorite on the Seiser Alm
12 kilometers long and a unique experience every time. Like almost all trails, the Hartl also starts directly from the Ritsch. The first few kilometers follow the meadows of the protected area "Großes Moos," just like the Möser (5.5 km) and Wolfsbühl (Col del Lupo, 8.8 km) trails. After some gentle climbs, the trail descends through the woods. Among firs and Swiss pines, you may encounter wildlife such as deer or even red deer. Several viewpoints (some towards the Sciliar, others towards the Langkofel and Plattkofel) invite you to pause and capture these moments as lasting memories.
PANORAMA (11.3 km) – 360° views and sunny trails
Also starting from the Ritsch are the Panorama trail (11.3 km) and the longest trail on the Seiser Alm, the Joch trail (15.4 km). The steep climb at the beginning is quickly rewarded with breathtaking panoramic views. By the time you reach the Bamby chairlift, you’ve already gained considerable altitude, and from there on, the trail becomes more gentle but still climbs steadily. Once you reach the top of the Goldknopf, you’re at the highest point of the trail. From here, you can enjoy thrilling descents through a stunning winter landscape.
RITSCH (1.4 km) – A special memory of Manuel
We all feel a special connection to this trail, not only because it shares our name. As it lies mostly in the shade, it’s the first trail to be groomed every winter. Nevertheless, it offers fantastic views of the Langkofel and Plattkofel massif. The 1.4 km route runs entirely through the grounds of our farm, making it ideal for everyone. Beginners and children can take their first steps on cross-country skis here, while for experts, it’s the perfect warm-up or recovery trail. Until the winter of 2011, this trail was always groomed by Manuel Malfertheiner with our own snowcat. It was officially added to the Seiser Alm trail map in 2012.
And, of course, the following trails are always worth a run:
COMPATSCH - Ritsch - Compatsch (5.4 km) – The connecting trail starting from the upper station of the Siusi-Seiser Alm cable car
PRACTICE TRAIL (2.1 km) – Practice makes perfect
MÖSER (5.5 km) – Ideal for a quick afternoon loop
COL DEL LUPO (8.9 km) – Wonderful viewpoint
JOCH (15.4 km) – The longest trail on the Seiser Alm with the Sciliar massif within reach
CONNECTING TRAIL TO HOTEL SONNE (3.2 km) – For guests from Ortisei, Hotel Sonne, and Adler Mountain Lodge
CONNECTING TRAIL TO SALTRIA (4.2 km) – A steep downhill and uphill challenge
SALTRIA (5.9 km) – A beautiful trail along the valley floor of Saltria
