As a member of Cross Country Ski Holidays, Hotel Ritsch on the Alpe di Siusi is the number 1 cross-country ski hotel in the area. The hosts themselves are passionate skiers and ready to guide you. The hotel offers equipment rental, a waxing room, and a ski cellar with heated lockers. Trails start right at the doorstep, and the entire Dolomiti Nordicski - Europe’s largest cross-country network is waiting to be explored. All trails offer a skating lane and tracks for classic style skiing.
Our own cross-country ski trail, the Ritsch, is located directly on our property. It's ideal for beginners and for warming up and some Alpe di Siusi skiing.
From our cross-country hotel, you can access 80 kilometres of trails on the plateau and 1,300 kilometres across the entire Dolomiti Superski network.
Back in 1973, our forebear Anton bought the first snowmobile to groom the cross-country trails on the Alpe di Siusi.

Once a year, cross-country skiing in the Dolomites becomes even more magical: during the Moonlight Classic, hundreds of cross-country skiers (strictly classic style) glide by full-moon light over the snow-covered trails. The glittering snow, the stillness of the night and the Dolomites glowing under moonlight make this event truly unique.
The track passes directly by Hotel Ritsch, right in the heart of the trail network - so you’re at the centre of the action. Whether watching from our panoramic dining room or joining in and stepping straight onto the trail from the hotel, the spirit of the Moonlight Classic is felt most intensely here.
Steffi and Michael grew up on the Alpe di Siusi and have been passionate cross-country skiers ever since they were children. Both spend an hour on the trails every day in winter.
As a trained yoga instructor, Steffi brings valuable insights into body awareness, breathing and movement flow. Michael adds his experience in both classic and skating technique, along with tips on equipment and route planning.
Together they know every trail on the Alpe di Siusi and especially love skiing directly from the Ritsch to the Hartl and on to the Joch. They happily share their favourite routes with guests - from gentle introductory tours to full-day sporty adventures. The greatest privilege: the trails for your cross-country skiing holiday begin right outside the hotel.
If you want to experience cross-country skiing from the very beginning, you are in the best hands with Lukas Kostner. He is a passionate instructor, happiest when he’s out on the trail, and his enthusiasm is infectious. From morning to evening, he coaches young athletes, teaches technique, joy and confidence on skis.
We can wholeheartedly recommend Lukas - both for beginners and for advanced skiers who want to refine their skills.

A trail fee is required for the use of the perfectly groomed cross-country pistes on the Alpe di Siusi. Our guests can purchase the ticket easily from the trail steward on site.
Children up to 14 years ski free of charge, discovering the joy of cross-country skiing without any additional cost.
The income from the trail pass helps ensure that the more than 80 km of pistes are prepared daily to top quality - for an unforgettable nature and sporting experience.
