Our favourite places
Unique places of natural power you simply have to see
When I clip on my cross-country skis in winter, I often have just one destination: the Hartl. Only cross-country skiers reach this quiet corner on the eastern side of the Alpe di Siusi. The trail leads over snowy meadows and woods - and every time I feel myself sinking deeper into the calm of the plateau. Arriving there, a grand panorama of the Sassolungo and Sassopiatto opens up. It’s a moment when I simply stop, breathe, and enjoy the silence. For me, the Hartl is nature at its purest: no distractions, just snow, mountains and open space. A place that always reminds me why I love the Alpe di Siusi so much.
The Alpe is full of places that stay with you.
For me, one of them lies just a 15-minute stroll from our hotel. On the way to the Wieder Egg, turn right at the first junction. After a few minutes you reach two wooden benches with a beautiful view of the Sassolungo and Sassopiatto. Just behind, our cows graze and sunbathe. From a distance you hear a bubbling stream, birds singing - and it feels as if time stands still.
The moment you arrive on the alpine plateau, the rest of the world feels far, far away.
