Senior host Anton Malfertheiner has been living at Alpe di Siusi since 1959. At that time, only a small dairy farm (in German Schwaige) was located here in his hometown Ritsch in S. Michele. There were no access roads, only horse trails. In 1960 he married Johanna Stufferin from the Römerschwaige (Alpe di Siusi).
From then on Johanna looked after the guests. Anton drove the horse carriage and helped in the house as much as he could.
1961 the birth of their first daughter Brigitte
1963 the first guesthouse with 50 seats was realised
1964 the birth of their son Peter
1966 the birth of their son Kurt
1968 Two rooms with shower and WC were built; a terrace and a public toilet were also realised.
1971 The wooden veranda was extended (total of 70 seats).
1973 Anton purchased the first snowmobile to groom cross-country tracks. From then onwards, a strong increase in the number of cross-country skiers was noticeable at Alpe di Siusi.
1974 A large car park for day guests was built.
1977 Today's "old building" gets constructed: 1 restaurant with 170 seats and 14 guest beds.
1978 The old farmhouse had to be demolished.
1986 Hotel Goldknopf is purchased and renovated over the years. Brigitte and Peter take over the management.
1987 On the 5th of March Kurt and Rita's first son is born. His name was Daniel. He died on the 10th of November of the same year.
1988 Wedding: Kurt and Rita Gasslitter from Hotel Gstatsch in S. Valentino get married. Their son Manuel is born in the same year.
1991 the birth of Michael. 1992 The large car park is closed down by the environmental protection authority.
1994 The garage for agricultural machinery is built.
1995 New construction of the stables and hay barn.
1997 Official take-over of Hotel Goldknopf by Peter and his wife Heidi.
1998 The number of toilets is increased. Six toilets for women and two for men are added.
1998 the birth of Stefanie.
2000 Ritsch Schwaige is extended: 5 guest beds, two day rooms and a business apartment.
2001 The rooms in the old area of the building are improved with regard to quality, they are renovated and adapted to the new 3-star standard.
2003 Official take-over of the management by Kurt and Rita.
From 2006 the guests enjoy a wellness oasis with herbal steam room and Tyrolean log sauna.
2008 The bar on the ground floor of Hotel Ritsch is replaced by two biological rooms.
2009 The 4th generation at Ritsch: son Manuel and his girlfriend Katrin have a daughter named Lisa.
2010 Anton Malfertheiner dies on the 16th of May after a year-long illness.
2010 The former attic is renovated and two spacious double rooms with a great panoramic view of the Sasso Lungo and Sasso Piatto Mountains are realised.
2011 A difficult year for the Malfertheiner Family: on the 5th of May Manuel decided he did not want to stay on in this world.
2012 In spring, a dining room, a buffet table, and a small regular's table in the bar are realised.
After a construction time of just 2 months our hotel garage is completed in Decemeber 2013.
In April 2015 our grandmother Johanna died after a heart disease.
